TeenStreetMalaysia 2008!!

I'm sure many of you have been looking forward to my TeenStreet post. Sorry I took so long. I was waiting for my pictures to arrive. Our theme this year was "In Gear : Engage Your World". Anyway...How do I start??...Where to begin??. TeenStreet was so awesome I just don't know where to look first. Why don't we do it the "Journal Way".

DAY 1
Theme : Jesus Came As A Gear To Engage The World And Make A Difference
Room Mates : Li Lian(Klang) & Edweena(Seremban)
Net Group Members : Li Lian, Edweena, Vera(Singapore) & Tordis(Faroe Island)
Coach : Su-Anne Lee(I actually forgot to ask her where she came from..LOL. But she's a
Malaysian la..HAHA!!)

OK. So me and Debo arrived at the college at 2.30pm. We missed lunch but was just in time for the 1st session aka 'In Gear'. So then we were introduced to our speakers and our guest from all the other parts of the world by Mr. Foo Seng. Then it was time for our 'Shh..Time'. That just means we have to stay quiet for 30 minutes. We are allowed to walk around or read the bible but we are suppose to be quiet and listen to God's still voice.
Then it was time for our 'Net 1'. This is a session where we get together with our Net group and our Coach and discuss about the message that was given during the 'In Gear'.
We also had an activity called the 'Trust Fall'. I'm sure you've guessed what that means. It's bassicly an activity where one person stands on a chair and falls back while his/her Net members catch them. It's a lot scaries than it sounds..TRUST ME!!
Next, we had some time to clean up and settle down in our rooms.(U14) Then we had our dinner. I can't say it was better than mum's cooking. I was already missing amma's food so much. HAHAH!!
Later, we had our 'Throne Room'. Now this is a session where we all get together in the hall and have a great time of Praise & Worship. After Throne Room, we had our 'Interact Zone' aka 'I.Zone'. This is the time where we get to chill at the Cafe or play games or visit the HIV Xperience booth or..get some shirts, books, CD's and other TeenStreet goodies.
Finally we had our 'Net Time 2' at 11.00. Here is where we just talk about how the day went and what we learned. Then it's light's off at 11.30pm.

DAY 2
Theme : Choices- Our Way or God's Way

We woke up at 7.30am. Thank You Li Lian for waking me up all the days at TeenStreet. Even the biggest alarm clock in the world could never wake me up. HAHA!!
Anyway, we had breakfast and went for our 'In Gear' session. Now on day 2 we all were human gears. It was pretty interesting to see how the geras had to work together and all. Then as usual, it was our 'Shh..Time'. Then we had our 'Net 1'. OH YA! And I forgot to mention that my coach reminded me of Love Akka. HAHA!! She talks just like you. But she's Malaysia. After our net, we had lunch and then we had our 'Interact 1.0 and Interact 2.0'. This is simply a time where we get to join workshops we signed up for on day 1 or you could just chill in the pool. Later that night it was time for Throne Room..then I.Zone and Net Time 2...And finally..Zzzzzzzzz...Well Li Lian had a hard time sleeping after telling her self so many scary stories. HAHA!! Our room mate Edweena had a hard time to since she can't sleep without a night lamp..As for me..sleeping is my hobby so it was quiet easy. HAHA!!! Actually we were up for quite some time on day 2. Our coach had to come and check on us to make sure we were sleeping. HAHAH!!

DAY 3
Theme : We Have To Count The Cost

Today it was the usual...Except the fact that we were fasting lunch. We were having our TNT. Journey today. Now we all fasted and prayed for the people in Myanmar since this was our main purpose this year. Then we would go to many stations where we would have to do a certain activity or play a game which would relate to the people in Myanmar. For an example, we drank mud water and prayed for the poor people who can't get the clean water they need. (Don't worry we only have to drink a little). Then we ate raw onions. We went to the prayer room and had a time of prayer. We had to crush rocks..and run with 10kg or rice-Hijackers included. But as fun as all these activities were, we also learned a lot from it. Then the day continued as usual from dinner..up to Zzzzz...

DAY 4
Theme : We Must Be Close To The Father's Heart

Now day 4 was just the same as any day. But today our In Gear session was a lil; different. This time the girls and guys we having the In Gear session at different times. For the girls, Our speaker was-Mel(Germany), Meg(Australia), Pas. Ned's wife(Sarawak) and Anne(South Africa-curently). So then the day was going on as usual. But this time during Interact 1.0 and Interact 2.0, we were at the pool. (Debo, Alison, Edweena, Charissa, Melody, Joyce and me). But only Joyce, Alison and Edweena went for a swin. Then rest of us were just hanging around and taling to Mel. We were sharing stories and embarassing moments and she was talking to us about her kids. Then a group of boys managed to throw Chris(Mel's husband) and the camera guy into to pool. We our camera man just pops out of NO WHERE and gets our pictures so he went in to. HAHA!! After that we had our usual day. But since it was the last day at TeenStreet, every program was extended to an extra hour. Then they had dancing and music and games. And finally we went to our room for Net Time 2. We got our coach a TeenStreet T-Shirt to thank her for everything and we stayed up quite late.

DAY 5 - LAST DAY (sobs)
Theme : Now It's Time To Engage With Your World

Our In Gear session was the usual. And ofter that we had our group pictue taken. It's almost impossible to spot me and my sis since we look so tiny in the picture. Then after lunch it was time to say goodbye. So we were exchanging e-mail, blogs and HP numbers. We had a great time at TeenStreet. We can hardly wait for next year.
